Very tasty, authentic Thai food and atmosphere. Perfect for day time lunch quiet spot, but also great for date night. Love the decor and lots of plants as if eating in a garden.
The owner and staff are very friendly and fast service (: -

Surely included in one of my favorite Thai food restaurants.
Very friendly staff and very good food, I recommend it, but it is your decision. -

This is hands down the best Thai food in Chicago. I dine here every 2 weeks. Everything is made fresh. The restaurant is sparkling clean and the décor is fantastic They have amazing drinks. Try the Thai Ginger tea, the Thai iced coffee, the sangria, and a drink called the Emerald. They have the best friend rice dishes. Try the basil fried rice with vegetables and your choice of meat if you're a meat eater. I love the shrimp. The catfish curry is one of my favorite dishes.

I've walked past this place countless times, but yesterday I finally had a chance to try their $7.95 lunch special (an entree, spring roll appetizer, and choice of soup) and was not disappointed! A low-priced meal is always up my alley, but when it's also quality, that really says something.
It was pretty dead when I came in around 1 p.m. on a Monday, but that's a little past peak lunch time, and it was snowing hard. I was greeted by Aria (hope I spelled that right!) who informed me that the lunch deal was applicable for both dine-in and takeout customers. I was a takeout customer on this particular visit, but I'm glad I got to see the inside of Nine Thai instead of just ordering to my home, because it's vibrant, with orange and red walls and plants everywhere.
While waiting for my food, I noticed a Shrek clock behind the counter. Always a good sign. I chose sweet and sour chicken as my entree along with rice soup, and they put those in a bag with my spring roll along with silverware. It was packaged so well and none of the soup dripped or fell out, which is impressive -- usually for takeout or delivery, restaurants need to saran wrap their soup. Nine Thai's packaging was trustworthy and held up!
- The soup: was delicious and was still very warm when I got home. Had rice, veggies, and tofu.
- Sweet and sour chicken: was flawless! It tasted delicious, was still very warm when I got home. I like the way their takeout box is set up, where you can choose how much of the rice gets mixed in with the sweet and sour chicken. Your own lil' creation.
- Spring rolls: were fantastic. They also gave an extra side of sweet and sour to pair with the rolls.
If you're anywhere near Clark and Fullerton during lunch hours, I'd say the special is totally worth it, and probably even cheaper than other spots in the area! Next time I'd love to sit inside and enjoy the ambience. Woo, Nine Thai! -

My roommate and I lived next to Nine Thai for 3 years and probably got takeout once a week! It's so good and really hits the spot. Our favorites were their Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Fried Rice, and Egg Rolls. But everything we ever tried was great!! Definitely recommend! We will miss being so close but will definitely go out of our way to get it!
